Twitter Fun Section Removed, Proving Twitter Is Not For Fun

What is the biggest problem on Twitter? You probably thought to yourself “the fun section for sure”, and you’d be right to think so. Science and Research both suggest that the “Fun” section of Twitter is the most ignored and least frequently visited tag on the site. Twitter users hate fun, and they especially hate seeing it advertised right out in the open. Fans hope that Twitter does even more to prevent fun in the future. Some twats (we hear this is what users call themselves) are demanding that Twitter censor the word “F*n” so that no one is triggered by the word.

Why Was The Twitter Fun Section Removed?

Most Twitter users are well aware that the fun section is ignored, but why remove it? Twitter administrators have agreed that the section is unnecessary, and hurts the image of the site. Twitter was created as a empty void into space; one that a user can freely vent into. Adding a fun section primes users to believe that the site should hold a value of entertainment. Expecting Twitter to be fun is a huge expectation, one that is difficult to meet. Removing the section also removes these expectations.

Polls suggest that users are not upset over the removal. 17% of users report that they will not miss the button. 4% of users wish the button was staying. Significantly though, a whopping 79% of users said “What fun section?”. This was all the information that Twitter administration needed to cut the section out entirely. The company released a statement saying “Having a fun section on Twitter is like having a fun section at a World War II museum. You just shouldn’t do it”. This is a very good point.
