Old School RuneScape

Old School RuneScape is a nostalgia trip. RuneScape was one of the original browser MMOs. Beginning in 2001, RuneScape was free to play and could be loaded on any internet browser. With competitors requiring monthly subscriptions or more powerful computer rigs to play, RuneScape grew into a beloved, accessible classic. As time went on, RuneScape underwent many changes and upgrades. After years adding features and changing the game, many players felt alienated from the game they loved. To reclaim these players, Old School RuneScape was released. This was the original, 2001 RuneScape people knew and loved.

New Era, New RuneScape

After many years of OSRS, Jagex has announced New School RuneScape. The company is confident that New School Runescape is going to blow the minds of RuneScapes original fans, as well as new players of the game. This new and improved RuneScape will keep all the great PVE and PVP elements of OSRS, but it is adding Light Sabers, Tron Cycles, Aliens, Jetpacks, Rayguns, and Hover Boards. Tron Cycles in RuneScape seems like a questionable addition to some, but Jagex is confident that these additions will bring new life to RuneScape.

Jagex is looking into other futuristic feature to add. They are hoping to collaborate with Star Trek, Tron, Star Wars, and Tomorrowland to add all the futuristic pop culture content they can. People can’t wait for this new spin on an old classic.
