Periods are not something the typical person find appetizing. This California based restaurant disagrees. They pride themselves on being free bleeders, on the more extreme end of feminism. They believe that the stigma toward menstruation is damaging. Research backs up these claims, and the normalization of periods would be beneficial to woman of all ages. However, this restaurant Menstrual Blood Pancakes brought in a crowd they weren’t expecting.

Along with a couple curious individuals, droves of vampire role players flocked to their establishment. The cooks had trouble producing enough menstrual blood to satisfy the demand, but they pulled it off. We interviewed one of these “vampires” about their experience, and this is what they said.

“I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve always identified as a vampire but couldn’t find a legal way of consuming human blood. When I saw that these pancakes had genuine human blood in them, I couldn’t resist. The flavor wasn’t pretty funky, but it satisfied my urges.”

I wasn’t too keen on trying it myself. However, if Research or Science ever tried out this delicacy, you will be the first to hear about it.
