Smosh Is Back! Anthony Padilla Finally Proposes to Ian Hecox

The Smosh Duo Rejoins

Fans of Smosh were heartbroken when Anthony left the team. However, it appears like the dynamic duo will finally become one again, this time in holy matrimony. The sexual tension has always been there between Anthony and Ian. It’s been obvious that there is chemistry there. The looks they give each other, the cute remarks, it’s obvious.

Anthony proposed to Ian. Their ceremony and reception is scheduled for summer 2021. “We want to have a YouTube Wedding. We are inviting all of YouTube’s original stars. Fred, Jenna Marbles, Niga Higa, Dave Days, Ray William Johnson, Shane Dawson. Maybe not Shane Dawson, but we invite the others.”

We hope that Anthony keeps his creative freedom alive. Even though he’ll close with Ian romantically, we hope that he continues to distance himself from the Smosh brand. They have completely sold out and hasn’t released a funny video in years. Perhaps under Mythical Entertainment, they’ll regain creative freedom.

Smosh’s History

Smosh began in 2002. The Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox duo made some of the best videos in YouTube’s early years. After growing a substantial subscriber count, they became internet giants. Their initial channel consisted of comedy shorts. These included songs, parodies, and originals. Boxman, Food Battles, and song covers were some of the biggest oldschool videos. There were multiple songs in the Boxman Universe, yearly Food Battles, and various other series that fans knew and loved. However, they eventually transformed into a multimedia giant and created their own videogame, feature length film, and more.

All good things must come to an end. The duo eventually broke apart. Anthony Padilla left the team to pursue his own endeavors. He stated that, once Smosh began being managed by Defy Media, he lost creative control and lost the excitement that Smosh once brought. However, it looks like Smosh may finally have their comeback. Perhaps they will finally bring some competition for YouTube’s current duo superstars.
