The edgy reboot seems unnecessary and uncalled for. No one knows why they are doing this. Nobody asked for this. The edgy reboot is being developed by Warner Bros. Edgy reboots make a lot of money, but the Wizard of Oz shouldn’t become a cash grab. The critically acclaimed series deserves better.

What Is In Store For The Wizard of Oz Reboot?

The Wizard of Oz edgy reboot sounds horrendous. The plot involves a warrior named Dorothy. She is a brave and stunning knight that journeys to the hell-hole called Oz. She falls into this nightmare wasteland after a tornado launches her into the hellish heavens. Dorothy ends up meeting a ferocious CGI lion, a scarecrow played by Johnny Depp, and a CGI tin man. The cast trailblazes the golden brick road in search of a Nazi witch played by Joaquin Phoenix. We are excited to see Joaquin Phoenix take the role of the witch of the west, but that is about it. The movie seems to be following the trend set by Alice and Wonderland. Both films are even being directed by Tim Burton. This is obvious since Johnny Depp is in the film.

The actors are practicing method acting. Johnny Depp has been hanging out in a field with crows for 15 months. Joaquin Phoenix has been acting as a tin man street performer since the lockdown began. He hardly has seen any by-standers, but his dedication is admirable.
