Here Are 10 Essential Games That Must Happen In 2021

2020 is finally over, and a new year of gaming is here. The last year was particularly rough on the gaming industry. Tons of games were delayed, many gaming studios slowed down on new reveals, and some game developers even launched incomplete games. The pandemic is ongoing, but for this list we will remain optimistic that this year will contain some noteworthy announcements. These are the top 10 essential games that must happen in 2021.

Top 10 Essential Games That 2021 Needs

Spyro 4: It’s About Time

Spyro 4
  • Spyro 4: It’s About Time – Spyro needs to receive the ‘Crash Bandicoot‘ treatment. Both series had their initial trilogy of PlayStation 1 games remade in full HD glory. Following the success of Crash Bandicoot’s remake trilogy, a brand new game was announced for the PlayStation 4 and XBox One. Crash 4: It’s About Time received critical acclaim by critics and fans alike. Spyro is the next series that deserves a similar comeback story. If it worked for Crash, it can work for Spyro. The ‘It’s About Time’ concept is funny and it makes sense in this case as well. The Spyro series should shamelessly adopt the exact same gimmick. Toys For Bob should completely rehash Crash 4 and just make Spyro 4 out of it. I cannot imagine any Spyro fans hating on this idea.

Jak 4: It’s About Time

Jak 4
  • Jak 4: It’s About Time – Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter series is no stranger to utilizing time as a story element. This series is the perfect opportunity to expand on the concept that Crash Bandicoot (another franchise previously developed by Naughty Dog) started. The initial Jak and Daxter trilogy was remastered and sold as a collection far before the other trilogies previously mention. Unfortunately, this collection of games did not feature the next-gen graphical upgrades that Crash and Spyro obtained. Now is the perfect time to make this up to Jak and Daxter fans. A full fledged sequel to Jak 3 is the best way to stay on this revival trend.

The Real Last Of Us Part II

The Last Of Us Part II 2021
  • The REAL The Last Of Us Part II – Neil Drunkman conducted the biggest prank of 2020. The acclaimed game developer and writer released sequel to his 2013 master piece ‘The Last Of Us’ and intentionally ruined the franchise. The prank was hilarious, as fans waited seven years for the release of The Last Of Us Part II and then hated it. Most fans didn’t realize it was a joke, and even cut their disc in half. The real The Last Of Us Part II needs to come out in 2021 though. Gamers are excited to see a true sequel to The Last Of Us, and seeing the second real story of Joel and Ellie would be a treat. Making this up to the fans should be a timely priority, and that makes the real Last Of Us Part II one of the 10 most essential games of the year.

The Legend Of Zelda 3D All-Stars

The Legend Of Zelda 3D All-Stars
  • The Legend Of Zelda 3D All-Stars – If Mario can do it, Zelda can do it. Nintendo released a collection consisting of the first three of Mario’s 3D outings. While the collection did remove some iconic dialogue, it was still a fun treat for Mario fans. Now it is Zelda’s turn. The series is during 35 this year, and a 3D All-Stars collection is essential. The game will likely feature untouched versions of the first few 3D Zelda games. This means we won’t see the Wii U remasters of Wind Waker or Twilight Princess, but the old inferior versions from the Nintendo Gamecube era. In fact, Twilight Princess might be left out entirely, as Super Mario 3D All-Stars did not include The fourth 3D Mario entry for no apparent reason. We hope to be able to play outdated versions of Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, And Wind Waker by the end of 2021. Additionally, the game should of course only be available for six months.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Content

Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2021 Content
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons Content – Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a 2020 game, but a game without content. The series is known for having a small amount of actual content, but thanks to a world of normalized unfinished games, it is possible that New Horizons has more content on the horizons. The game has already received some additional content that fits each new season within the game, but the game could use more than just seasonal content. Funny enough, you can fast forward time in Animal Crossing by changing the time on your Nintendo Switch. Fast forwarding time does not allow you to see new seasonal content though, as Nintendo just simply hasn’t finished it yet, and adds it as DLC once the fitting time comes. Releasing unfinished games is convenient for developers, but seeing New Horizons become complete would be a great dream for 2021.

Tom Holland’s Uncharted

Tom Holland Uncharted
  • Tom Holland’s Uncharted – Yet another Naughty Dog game essential for 2021. With the movie getting closer, it is time to finally get a full prequel to the Uncharted Series. Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception lightly touched on the origins of the character, but we believe there is more excitement to be found in Nathan’s childhood. The Spider-Man PS5 game changed Peter Parker’s appearance, and now it is time for Nathan Drake’s makeover. Movie tie-in games used to be a given, but these games have since become more and more shameful. Naughty Dog has a real chance to make these games cool again. An Uncharted prequel movie tie-in starring Tom Holland’s Nathan Drake would be a huge cash grab that could change the gaming industry forever. Tom Holland is in everything these days, and we are totally on-board with it.

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2, But Zelda Dies Or Becomes Mute

The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2
  • The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2, But Zelda Dies Or Becomes Mute – The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild was a monumental game that brought huge success to an already successful franchise. The game is credited for the successful launch of the Nintendo Switch, and the momentum hasn’t stopped since. Additionally, the game went on to sell over double the amount of the previous Best-Selling Zelda game. While a sequel is already announced, a release date and gameplay trailer have not been revealed. Nintendo has a chance to correct the biggest fault of Breath Of The Wild. Zelda’s voice was incredibly infuriating, and unfortunately players had to endure it recently in Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity. Breath Of The Wild can easily surpass the previous two entries in the series by simply having Zelda’s vocal cords pulled out. If she is killed off entirely that is okay too. Imagine exploring the expansive world of Hyrule without having to hear Zelda’s annoying voice. This is game of the decade material.

Banjo-Threeie: It’s About Time

Banjo-Threeie
  • Banjo-Threeie: It’s About Time – Banjo and Kazooie are finally back. The duo triumphantly returned to the spotlight when they were announced for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. This comeback has the gaming community talking about RareWare’s classic franchise again. This series is the perfect opportunity to expand on the concept that Crash Bandicoot started. The series has always had comedy on the frontlines, and this is the perfect chance to fully parody the current trend of rebooting late 90’s gaming franchises. The story line could involve Banjo and Kazooie going back in time to reboot their own series. This could restart the duo back the end of Banjo-Tooie. Perhaps the game could even appear on the Nintendo Switch? Maybe Playtonic Games (Ex. RareWare) will even help develop the game. Anything is possible once Banjo and Kazooie tear apart the timelines. At the very least, we need to see Grant Kirkhope on the soundtrack.

Ring Fit Adventure 2: Shake Weight Quest

Ring Fit Adventure 2: Shake Weight
  • Ring Fit Adventure 2: Shake Weight Quest – Ring Fit Adventure got people through a pandemic when exercising became difficult to maintain. It is only fitting that this game gets a sequel. The Joy-Cons have built in gyroscope functionality that works perfectly in motion based games found in Mario Party and 1-2 Switch!. Utilizing this technology to enhance Ring Fit Adventure’s exercising gimmick is a must. Using the Joy-Cons to function as a Shake Weight is a logical next step for the series. Imagine working out your arms and biceps by shaking your Joy-Cons as if they were a fitting dumbbell. I would start exercising immediately if this game existed.

Nintendo Vs. Capcom

Nintendo Vs. Capcom
  • Nintendo Vs. Capcom – Nintendo is far more open to collaborating with other developers then they were in the past. In recent years, we have seen Pokemon’s take on Tekken, The Legend of Zelda’s take on Dynasty Warriors, Mario face off against the Raving Rabbids, and even a Microsoft-owned character join the fray in Super Smash Brothers. With these developments, it no longer seems ridiculous to think that a Nintendo Vs. Capcom could happen. Mega Man is already featured in Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, so this wouldn’t even be the first time the mascots bump fists. Imagine Chris Redfield shooting Princess Daisy in the face, or Waluigi going toe-to-toe with Dante. The game sounds like a dream come true for all gamers, and it is easily one of the 10 most essential games of 2021.
