Tempo Urban Kitchen, Is This The Taco Tuesday Dream Come True?

This Taco Tuesday, we tried Tempo Urban Kitchen located in Brea, CA. We looked at no reviews, and had our first meal totally blind. Based on 5 objective measurements, below is our official score for Tempo Urban Kitchen. Should Tempo be your Taco Tuesday destination?

Tempo Urban Kitchen: A Fiesta For The Taste Buds

Taste

Tempo Urban Kitchen is delicious. Their food is like music to our taste buds. The restaurant has great music too, but we will cover that in our ambiance section of the review. We tried the California burrito and it was phenomenal. The burritos are big and difficult to finish in one sitting. Tempo’s California burrito is easily the best California burrito in all of California. The entree comes with shoestring fries that was complemented greatly with the garlic aioli. The garlic aioli is delivered in a small portion, but you can ask for more. The service was great as well. Thank you very much Steve for the amazing service.

Price

The happy hour price is phenomenal. Outside of happy hour, it is difficult to say we completely recommend visiting, but at the same time it is also very fair. Tempo Urban Kitchen has daily deals even outside of happy hour. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday/Sunday have their own special deals and events tied in. This includes the Saturday and Sunday mimosa brunch. It is easy to make it to Tempo during one of these many great deals, so this is what we recommend doing. We of course value Taco Tuesday, so we specifically recommend coming Tuesday evenings before 6:00PM.

Ambience

The atmosphere of Tempo Urban Kitchen is high energy and loud. The walls are covered in graffiti, loud music is filling the restaurant, and flat screens are in every corner. This is not a place to relax, but it keeps a bright mood and happy smiles. At times the music was a bit too loud, causing awkward yelling when the music suddenly quieted down. Awkward! It also caused the server to think I asked for olives when I requested a “glass of water.” Maybe keep the music a little quieter Tempo. A final touch to the ambience was the wonderful birthday dessert. They give an ice cream cart with churros and 3 dipping sauces.

Toot Power

This Taco Tuesday excelled in the toot department. The car ride home was a flatulence symphony. The Tempo of the toots was music to my ears! We expect no less from a proper Taco Tuesday. Between margaritas, burritos, chips and salsa, and churros, it felt like bombs were going off in our stomachs. Not only were the toots fantastic, there was an abundance of burps. This might be the best part of the meal.

Butthole Burn

Following the symphony of toots was a symphony of poops. Our colons feel as cleansed as ever. We feel like new men. The burps and full tummies were a precursor this lovely event. However, it was a little too pleasant. There was no actual burning sensations. Unfortunately, it is less pain more pleasure. Taco Tuesday isn’t complete until the colon is cleansed, and Tempo surely does the job, but it lacked the tears. This concludes our journey through a perfect Taco Tuesday.

Tempo Urban Kitchen Final Score

We will definitely be returning to Tempo Urban Kitchen. Great staff, great food, and a fantastic Taco Tuesday experience. Thanks Steve!
